Man charged with raping pregnant woman in Sibu


SIBU: A 21-year old man has been charged at the Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday (May 14) with raping a pregnant woman.

No plea was recorded from the accused after the charges were read out to him before Magistrate Romario Jonoi.

The court fixed May 20 for further mention and the accused was not offered any bail.

He was charged under Section 376(2)(g) of the Penal Code with raping the 22-year-old victim in a room on the top floor of the victim's residence in Jalan Teku at about 1am on April 25.
