Teen boy drowns in Tapah river while fishing


IPOH: A 15-year-old boy has drowned after he slipped and fell into a river while fishing.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the incident occurred at the Kuala Woh Recreational area near Tapah.

He said they received a distress call at 12.23pm on Sunday (May 5).

He said the operations commander at the scene received assistance from the water rescue unit and a surface search was conducted.

"The victim was found at 2.02pm and his body was handed over to the police for further action," he added.
