KKB polls: Pang, Khairul take time out to console drowning victims' family


HULU SELANGOR: Amidst the bustle of the campaign trail, two candidates in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election took the time to visit the family of three victims who drowned in Sungai Balak, Batang Kali here.

Pakatan Harapan candidate Pang Sock Tao rushed to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital after hearing about the tragic incident which claimed the lives of a father and his two children, aged six and nine.

Pang arrived at 4.55pm and spent about 15 minutes with the victim's wife, Azimah Azahar, 38.

In a Facebook post, she expressed hope that Azimah would remain strong in the face of the loss.

"My team will assist to alleviate the family's burden to the best of our ability. May the victims rest in peace," she added.

Perikatan Nasional candidate Khairul Azhari Saut arrived at the hospital later at 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, Hulu Selangor District police chief Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said in a statement that the bodies of all three victims were found at 1.30pm. – Bernama
