Johor cop under probe for sexual assault of underage girl suspended pending court case


JOHOR BARU: A police inspector who has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an underage girl will be suspended from work, says Comm M. Kumar.

The Johor police chief said the remand for the 29-year-old suspect, attached to the Pontian police headquarters, would end on Sunday (April 28).

“The suspect is currently being suspended from work, and we will give him the letter once we receive the order from Bukit Aman.

“The suspension from work will be enforced until the court case is completed,” he said during a press conference at the Johor police headquarters.

The police inspector was arrested on Tuesday (April 22) in Seri Alam for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at Taman Johor Jaya.
