Four suspects remanded for stealing unclaimed money


SIBU: Four individuals, including two civil servants, are held in custody for stealing RM175,000 in unclaimed money.

The suspects, three men and a woman aged 29 to 42, were arrested on April 14 and 15.

They were alleged to have forged documents to withdraw money from an unclaimed account.

They were brought to the Magistrates Court on Monday (April 15).

Magistrate Romario Jonoi ordered the suspects to be remanded until April 18.

The case is being investigated under Sections 420 and 471 of the Penal Code for cheating and forging documents, respectively.
