'Wrong shop bro': Sock issue protesters mistake 99 Speedmart for KK Super Mart

KUALA LUMPUR: Protesters demonstrating over the "Allah" socks issue became a laughing stock online when they were found protesting outside the wrong supermarket.

The group's mistake was caught on camera in a 13-second video posted by user "Mesinbasuh" on Reddit.

The protest was also being carried out after the store had closed for the day, although the exact location remains uncertain.

The comments drawn were hilarious and scathing, among others.

"(They are) too lazy to find KK Mart. So (they) make do with 99 Speedmart," said user ClacKing.

Another user, eisfer_rysen sought answers from the divine over the blunder.

"Ya Allah, kenapa manusia boleh jadi bodoh sampai tahap ni (Oh God, how can people be so dumb to such an extent)?"

User _Chillbro said: "Love how the camera said 'salah kedai bro, salah kedai' (wrong store bro, wrong store)".

At least one user, MingiHao, wondered if the group was just trying to get on the "boycott" bandwagon.

"Doesn't this mean that these people are just boycotting for the sake of it being the hot thing to do now? You would figure people who wanna boycott something at least know what they are boycotting.

"This seems like already not a customer trying to boycott things that they never even buy from anyway."

KK Super Mart has recently come under fire after its branch in Bandar Sunway was found selling socks printed with the word "Allah".

The convenience chain has issued an immediate apology and held checks at its outlets nationwide.
