DAP's New Year billboards vandalised in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: A police report has been lodged after Chinese New Year billboards and a banner featuring the faces of three DAP state leaders were vandalised.

The billboards in Jalan Burma, Jalan Kelawai and Lebuhraya Maktab here featured faces of Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid and Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo with Chinese New Year greetings.

Woo said the party's Bukit Bendera Youth wing lodged a police report earlier on Friday (Feb 23) after discovering the vandalism the day before.

In a statement, the wing expressed its desire to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, especially on billboards in other areas.

"Bukit Bendera DAP Youth has filed this report so that the police can investigate and take appropriate action against the perpetrators," it added.
