Boy crushed by a tree


JEMPOL: A happy family outing ended in tragedy when a four-year-old boy died after a tree fell on him at a recreational park in Batu Kikir near here.District police chief Supt Hoo Chang Hook said the boy was earlier playing with his nine-year-old sister in the children’s pool.

Both of them later walked towards their father, who was nearby, when the incident struck at about 1pm yesterday.

“It was then that the tree suddenly fell and crushed the boy,” Supt Hoo said.The victim’s sister sustained injuries and was sent to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital.He said the case had been classified as sudden death.
