JOHOR BARU: Johor police are searching for a Singapore registered car owner after allegedly breaking a window of another car at KM139.6 along the North-South Expressway here.

State police chief Comm M. Kumar said a report was lodged at 2.36pm on Saturday (Feb 10) where a 54-second video that recorded the altercation had since gone viral on social media.

"Early investigation found that the incident was caused by the victim's actions by blocking the suspect's Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle while passing through the emergency lane along the highway.

"This caused the suspect, who we believe to be a foreigner, to feel dissatisfied so he got out of his vehicle and broke the rear window of the victim's vehicle," he said in a statement here on Sunday (Feb 11).

Comm Kumar added that the video has garnered 2,300 reactions, 694 comments, 3,000 shares and 26,000 views on Facebook.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
