National football legend Khalid Ali passes away


PETALING JAYA: National football legend Khalid Ali has passed away at the age of 66 after almost a year of battling lung cancer.

The former Selangor right back wore the national team jersey from 1977 to 1985, helping Harimau Malaya qualify for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Russia.

He is also a prominent critic of the game, known in the press for his no-nonsense take on Malaysian football.
