KUALA LUMPUR: A fire destroyed six houses at Kampung Baru on Monday morning (Jan 29).

According to City Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Muhamad Hafidz Yaacob, they received a distress call at 10.18am.

"We dispatched fire engines and 16 personnel from the Titiwangsa, Tun Razak and Sentul stations.

"They arrived at the scene at Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3 and found that six houses were on fire," he said in a statement.

The firemen used offensive and defensive firefighting techniques to control the blaze and keep it from spreading to nearby houses, he added.
