Zayn Rayyan case: Bukit Aman won't stop until murderer is brought to justice

SHAH ALAM: Bukit Aman has vowed that it will not stop its investigation until the murderer of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin is brought to justice.

CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Suhaily Mohd Zain said police were currently triangulating all the findings of the investigation to find their next clue.

"As the Inspector-General of Police clearly said yesterday, we are collecting all the information, we will triangulate all our findings.

"As far as the Forensics Department is concerned, we have exhausted all alternatives," he told reporters on Wednesday (Jan 10).

He said an arrest would only be made if sufficient evidence was found.

Meanwhile, Comm Mohd Suhaily also expressed his appreciation to the community for providing input and perspective from the public's point of view.

"We evaluated this information as it gave us some public perspective that we think was worth looking into.

"Just like the general public, my officers are affected emotionally by the case.

"They are very motivated, even today they are still in the field, trying to process everything under the leadership of the Selangor police chief.

"But let me say this: We have not stopped and we will not stop. May Allah guide us and may the person who committed this heinous crime be brought to justice," he said.

On Tuesday (Jan 9), Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said forensic investigation in the case had not yielded any actionable result.

"We will look at the possibility of more arrests based on statements and evidence gathered," he told a press conference at Bukit Aman.

Razarudin said police were unable to ascertain the motive behind the murder.

His body was discovered at about 10pm on Dec 6 in a river near his home at Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai in Petaling Jaya.

So far, police have recorded the statements of 225 people and collected 248 DNA samples from residents and others in the course of the investigation.
