Man with criminal record nabbed for damaging neighbour's car


AMPANG: A man with 12 offences on his criminal record has been arrested for throwing a rock that damaged his neighbour's car in Taman Muda here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the victim, a contractor, claimed that the incident occurred at about 5pm on Thursday (Jan 4).

"The man is suspected of throwing the rock, breaking the left front window and side mirror of the car.

"The damage is estimated at about RM1,000," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 9).

ACP Mohd Azam said the 33-year-old suspect was detained at 7.20pm on Sunday (Jan 7).

"The suspect has 12 prior offences, including for drugs.

"We are investigating under Section 427 (for committing mischief that causes loss or damage) of the Penal Code," he said.
