Dismembered body of woman found in garbage bin in Melaka


ALOR GAJAH: A chopped-up woman's body was found in a garbage bin in a drain at Kampung Rimau in Pulau Sebang here.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad said his investigation team is currently attempting to identify the victim after the dismembered body parts were discovered here on Dec 31.

"We urge those who had made police reports on missing persons to come forward to assist in the investigation," he said on Saturday (Jan 6).

Supt Arshad said his men ascertained the victim was a woman based on the post-mortem report.

"A passer-by lodged a police report after making the gruesome discovery at 2pm on Dec 31," he said.

Supt Arshad said the lower body part was covered in a piece of red cloth and some body parts were missing.

He added that the victim was believed to have been murdered at another location based on the condition of her remains.
