Police record statements in teen acid attack probe

SHAH ALAM: Police have recorded 12 statements in their ongoing investigation into an acid attack on a 19-year-old clinic staff.

Following the Nov 8 attack in Denai Alam, Shah Alam, police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.

OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed the matter when contacted yesterday.

In a recent interview with Sinar Harian, the victim’s father Azman Shah Mohammad said he had spent most of his savings to pay for his daughter’s surgeries following the attack.

“It has been almost two months since she began receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“As a result, I have exhausted all my savings. The doctor informed me that my daughter might have to stay in the hospital for a year,” he said.

The victim, identified as Nadia Fasha Qistina, had only been six days into working at a clinic when she was splashed with acid while walking home.

A man, said to be posing as an ehailing driver, fled the scene after the incident.
