Transport Minister sends Christmas greetings

PETALING JAYA: "Merry Christmas to all Christians and happy holidays to all Malaysians," says the Transport Minister.

Anthony Loke Siew Fook, who is also DAP secretary-general, said Christmas is a time to renew bonds as a family, community, and nation.

"Christmas is a time for compassion and empathy. These universal values are also embodied in the Malaysia Madani concept that guides the unity government's policies," he said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 24).

He added that he had made it a priority to bridge the gap between East and West Malaysia by introducing the FlySiswa initiative and a cap on flight prices between the two regions during the festive seasons.

"Much work went into making these initiatives possible, but every additional minute, they bring families together and make those efforts worthwhile," he said.

"As we reconnect with our loved ones, let it be a reminder of our collective duty as Malaysians to nurture a society rooted in empathy and kindness," he added.
