In a Facebook post, Anwar wished all Christians in the country a happy Christmas and urged everyone to be compassionate regardless of race, religion, and background.

"May this celebration be a momentum to always love, be kind and spread goodness regardless of our differences.

"Unity is required so that the country continues to develop economically, attract investment and eliminate extreme poverty.

"May the Christmas celebration this year continue to bring joy, peace, security, harmony, prosperity and unity amongst the people and nation," he said.
