Monorail guide tyre catches fire near Titiwangsa station

KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters were deployed after a KL Monorail coach guide tyre caught fire Tuesday (Dec 19) afternoon.

The City Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement that it was alerted to the fire at 12.57pm.

A team was then dispatched to the Titiwangsa station in Jalan Tun Razak.

The fire caused one guide tyre to fall from underneath the train and land on the road, but firefighters successfully extinguished it.

"No victims were involved, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation," the statement added.
