Opportunity to serve is an honour, says Kula

PETALING JAYA: Ipoh Barat MP M. Kula Segaran described his appointment as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) as both humbling and an honour.

"My unwavering passion for justice, fairness and legal reform is a commitment that has been nurtured throughout my professional journey as a lawyer and my advocacy within DAP," Kula Segaran said in a statement on Friday (Dec 15).

"My enthusiasm for this new responsibility is heightened by the prospect of collaborating with Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, a fellow champion for legal reforms."

Kula Segaran said as a devoted party member, his commitment extends to serving wherever his skills and expertise were needed, acknowledging that positions are not permanent.

"My primary focus is on serving all communities, upholding multiracial principles and ensuring that meritocracy remains a fundamental aspect of our governance framework," he said.

Kula Segaran said he was equally devoted to serving the Indian Tamil community, using his position to advocate for their rights and needs.

"I extend my deep gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for this opportunity to serve and I am eager to contribute to the progress of our nation," he added.
