Over RM13mil of subsidised diesel seized in Ops Tiris since March

PASIR GUDANG: Some 6.5 million litres of subsidised diesel worth more than RM13mil has been seized by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry since March this year.

Its Deputy Minister, Fuziah Salleh, said the diesel was seized in dozens of raids conducted nationwide under Ops Tiris.

"Among operations that we have been conducting actively is Ops Tiris, which aims to curb the smuggling and illegal trade of subsidised diesel.

"From March this year up until today, we have seized 6.5 million litres of diesel from some 769 cases," she said.

She said this after officiating the Rahmah Kasih Sayang Bangsa Johor Carnival at the Pasir Gudang Stadium on Saturday (Dec 9).

Fuziah added that her ministry has also seized some RM75.19mil worth of assets and food from the raids.

"Apart from the diesel, we have also seized other things such as tankers, trucks, and other vehicles used by the syndicate to carry out our activity," she said.
