Anwar hints of Cabinet reshuffle by year-end in light-hearted exchange with boy

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hinted that there could be a Cabinet reshuffle in December.

A young congregant, 12-year-old Akmal Afif Yaseer Arafat, had asked Anwar after performing Friday prayers at Surau Putra Al-Amin in Precinct 18 about a possible Cabinet reshuffle and the Prime Minister asked him to repeat his question.

The boy obliged and asked: "Datuk Seri, when is the Cabinet reshuffle?"

Anwar the replied: "When do you propose, before or after 2024?"

When the boy said "before 2024", Anwar smiled and told the waiting reporters: "He said before 2024. I agree."

Earlier, Anwar joined 2,000 congregants including the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar for Friday prayers led by Imam Amirul Aqif Ismail.

After prayers, Anwar also had lunch and mingled with congregants at the surau. – Bernama
