Penang building collapse: One confirmed dead, two others injured

GEORGE TOWN: One victim has been confirmed dead while two others who were injured have been rescued at the site where a building under construction had collapsed in Bayan Lepas here.

During the incident at about 9.58pm, firemen and other rescuers rushed to the scene after receiving report of the incident.

Initial reports by the Fire and Rescue Department was at least nine workers trapped under the rubble.

Search and rescue works were still ongoing at press time.
