SINGER and actor Naim Daniel (pic) revealed that several international brands have expressed concern over his speaking out on the Palestinian issue on social media, reported Utusan Malaysia.

However, the 26 year old said he refused to tolerate any form of persecution and would continue to use his social media platforms to raise awareness.

“There are indeed brands that were annoyed with my being vocal on the issue. They asked me to be neutral regarding the Palestine issue,” said the Sumpah hitmaker.

Naim had joined the Freedom with Palestine peaceful rally on Sunday. He held a placard that read, “The rockets may be above us but Allah is above them” at the rally, which was held to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and call for an end to the armed strikes by Israeli forces.> Selling chicken at the wet market may not be the dream job for most young people but 25-year-old Ummi Safiyyah Baharudin takes pride in her work, reported Harian Metro.

“I’m used to the smell of the wet market. I don’t mind spending time here even though people will ask me why I didn’t choose another job because I’m still young,” she said.

Ummi Safiyyah, who had an office job before, said she really enjoyed her current job.

“I like it because it requires its own skills. It took me three months to learn how to cut chicken the right way.

“Many were surprised to see me and my young cousin selling chicken because chicken traders here are mostly men while the women are elderly,” she said.

According to Ummi Safiyyah, there were also customers who would tease her by saying that they wanted to get to know her.

“We know they are just teasing us and we take it as a joke,” she said, adding that she is not ashamed of her work as she is interested in doing business.

Norhaniza Arifin, 44, a mother of five who lost her husband five years ago due to a heart attack, said her daughter was involved in an accident while riding a motorcycle with a friend on their way to buy school supplies for the new term.
