Another suspect arrested in MYAirline case


KUALA LUMPUR: Another suspect has been detained in connection with a police investigation on MYAirline.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the man in his 40s, was detained at his home in Bangsar early Monday (Oct 23) morning.

"The suspect will be brought to the Jinjang central lockup for the remand application," he said in a statement.

The CCID have also seized various items in the course of the investigation, Comm Ramli said.

"So far, 12 vehicles, documents connected to i-Serve Technology and Vacation Sdn Bhd, six luxury wristwatches, eight luxury handbags, two laptops, a CPU and 10 pieces of jewellery have been seized.

"We are still investigating further," he added.

The remand order on Datuk Allen Goh will end on Monday.

"The main suspect will be released on police bail.

"Our focus now is to scrutinise important documents pertaining to i-Serve business transactions," he said.

It was previously reported that Goh, 57, as well as his 55-year-old wife and 26-year-old son, were detained by CCID at about 5.30pm on Oct 17 at their residence in Shah Alam.

All three were remanded until Saturday (Oct 21). Goh's wife and son were released while Goh's remand was extended until Monday.

On Oct 12, MYAirline abruptly suspended operations citing financial issues pending shareholder restructuring and recapitalisation.

About 125,000 passengers, with tickets worth RM20mil, have been affected by MYAirline's sudden suspension. Following the announcement on Oct 16, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the license of low-cost carrier MYAirline Sdn Bhd will be suspended temporarily.
