'Datuk' charged with stealing luxury watches

IPOH: A 41-year-old woman with a "Datuk" title has been charged with stealing two luxury watches from a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria here.

Datuk Mou Ei Leen @ Eileen Mou pleaded not guilty after the charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code was read before Magistrate Siti Nora Sharif on Thursday (Oct 12).

Mou allegedly stole a Rolex Sky-Dweller (Model 326135) and a Rolex GMT Master-II (Model 116718 LN) from a house used for storage in January 2021.

She can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined if found guilty.

When requesting lower bail, Mou's lawyer Gurbachan Singh said his client is unemployed and takes care of two children.

"Bail is only to ensure her (attendance) in court," he said.

Siti Nora set bail at RM3,000 and Nov 22 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Nor Nabilah Norzam prosecuted.
