School Sports Facility Maintenance SOP to be improved, says Fadhlina

KUALA LUMPUR: The standard operating procedure (SOP) for maintaining school sports facilities will be improved to ensure zero accidents in the school compound, says Fadhlina Sidek (pic).

The Education Minister said her ministry will also ensure that the State Education Department, the District Education Office and schools monitor all sports infrastructure and that school grounds are safe for students.

"School administrators should always remind students to be vigilant when doing activities outside of class," she said in a post on her Facebook account on Saturday (Sept 30).

Fadhlina also expressed her condolences to the family of an 11-year-old student who died after being struck by a goal post crossbar during a co-curricular activity at Sekolah Kebangsaan St Anthony in Bintulu, Sarawak, on Friday (Sept 29).

"The Education Ministry, through the State Education Department, will extend assistance to the victim's family," she said.

Fadhlina also said her ministry will cooperate with the Police to assist in the investigation.- BERNAMA
