Panorama Melaka launches bus-on-demand service

MELAKA: The state-owned stage bus concessionaire, Panorama Melaka, has launched a "bus-on-demand" service.

The cashless bus service was launched by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) here on Friday (Sept 15).

Commuters will be able hail a bus and pay for the ride using the "Kumpool Kasturi" app.

"The service will cover a radius of seven kilometres from the vehicle-free zone," he said.

Ab Rauf said the initiative would be a boon for Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM 2024).

He said the app would also contain information on interesting tourist icons and restaurants along the bus routes.

He added that the bus service began operations on Saturday (Sept 16) by ferrying passengers to car-free zones in Bandar Hilir.

Meanwhile, Ab Rauf also announced that the open space at Dataran Pahlawan will be the centeral location for TMM2024.e
