Don’t believe fake RTK 2.0 message, says Immigration DG

KUALA LUMPUR: A fake message is circulating on WhatsApp claiming the Immigration Department is giving out special approvals for illegal immigrants for the Labour Recalibration Programme (RTK 2.0).

Immigration director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh set the record straight, saying that the public should not be misled by the fraudulent tactics of some agents or middlemen.

“The policy is clear that only foreigners who were illegals in this country until Dec 31, 2022, are eligible and will be considered for RTK 2.0 approval,” he said.

This had been the government’s policy since the launch of RTK 2.0 on Jan 27 this year, he said in a statement yesterday.

He made clear the department’s denial of the fake voice message, which claimed that the special approval would be given to 5,000 applicants entering the country this year.

The public, he said, should check the department’s official portal and social media accounts to get accurate and up-to-date information related to immigration issues.
