'I can prove I wasn't even there!', counters Peja over a woman's sexual harassment police report

PETALING JAYA: This is slander, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu over a police report that went viral online alleging he sexually harassed a woman at Plaza Damas in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur on July 24.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president says that he can even prove that he was not at the site when the alleged incident happened.

"I was in another state at that time. How could I have uttered such words to that woman when I was not even there then?

"I am talking to my lawyers and I will issue a full statement soon," said Ahmad Faizal, who said he will file the report at the Hartamas Police Station on Thursday (Aug 3).

In the police report, a woman claimed that she was walking to an office in Plaza Damas when a man she claimed to be Ahmad Faizal Azumu uttered derogatory remarks against her.

"I was very angry and embarrassed and I continued walking to Blok M (Plaza Damas). I then narrated the story to my husband.

"My husband wants to see Ahmad Faizal and upon his advice, I was urged to go to the police station to file a police report for my safety," the complainant said in the report that went viral on social media.

When asked by The Star, Ahmad Faizal claimed that the report was slander and that he was on his way to file a counter-police report against the woman.

Attempts are ongoing to contact the complainant in the report.
