Armizan to temporarily replace Salahuddin as Domestic Trade Minister, says PM

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali will be temporarily taking on the role of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) would take on the ministerial role left vacant by the passing of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on July 23.

"I said after the state polls, give me some time to think and meanwhile, Armizan is given the responsibility to monitor and carry out the duties (of Salahuddin)," said Anwar.

Anwar said this during a Rahmah initiative event at Bukit Jalil Pavilion on Sunday (July 30).

Anwar said Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh was told about Armizan serving as the caretaker minister.

"I also told Armizan to focus on the ministry, it won’t be too long (for a new replacement)," added Anwar.
