Kota Tinggi woman slashed by parang-wielding robber in broad daylight

KOTA TINGGI: A woman in her 50s was slashed by a parang-wielding robber who broke into her home in broad daylight at Felda Air Tawar 4 here.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said police received a report on a robbery where the victim sustained an injury at around 3.31pm on Sunday (July 2).

“The victim was sleeping in her room when a masked suspect, who was armed with a parang, broke into her home at around 12.40pm,” he said

“The suspect tried to cover the victim’s face, which led to the victim falling to the floor. The two then struggled and the suspect suddenly slashed the victim with the parang, resulting in a cut to her chin,” added Supt Hussin on Monday (July 3).

Supt Hussin added that the suspect then snatched a gold bracelet the victim was wearing before fleeing the scene.

“The victim, who is currently stable, suffered losses amounting to about RM3,000,” he said, adding that the police were investigating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code.

He urged those with information on the incident to contact the Kota Tinggi police hotline at 07-883 1222 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
