King, Queen congratulate Mandy Lai for winning world accounting prize


KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah congratulated Sunway TES Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) student Mandy Lai, who was awarded the International Subject Orders of Merit, First Place and the Watts Prize for Audit and Assurance - Professional Level in the March 2023 examination series.

Also congratulating Lai on Istana Negara’s Facebook page in a post on Monday (June 19) was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Their Majesties also expressed their joy and pride at Lai's achievement of getting excellent results for the series of exams, thus winning the prestigious award and elevating Malaysia's name on the international stage.

"Once again, this proves that Malaysia is capable of producing quality, outstanding individuals of international standards.

Their Majesties expressed the hope that Lai’s achievements would inspire Malaysians, especially youths, to work hard and strive to achieve outstanding success in their respective fields.

They also wished her all the best and prayed that she would continue to gain excellent achievements.

Lai was awarded the First Place in the ICAEW Certificate Level Annual Order of Merit 2022, the World Prize for Principles of Taxation for June 2022 and the World Prize for Financial Accounting and Reporting for the December 2022 examination series.
