Education Ministry denies issuing circular on Anwar's biopic

PETALING JAYA: A circular, purportedly from the Education Ministry ordering department heads, state Education directors and school principals to watch Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's biopic, is false.

The ministry, in a statement Monday (May 29), said it has never issued such a directive regarding organising film screenings as reported.

A letter, supposedly from Education director-general Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek had issued the order, asking them to watch the biopic titled "Anwar: The Untold Story" at the nearest cinema.

"Please verify the information, do not share if in doubt," the statement added.
