It’s not unusual for state reps to meet Opposition, says Perak PAS

IPOH: It’s not something out of the norm for state assemblymen to meet the Opposition, says Razman Zakaria.

The Perak PAS commissioner said that assemblymen often met him and discussed their concerns about the state government.

“When we meet, we have discussions and exchange our opinions. If they (the state government) are certain and stable, why are they worried about what I said?

“They are worried about it so much that UIu Kinta assemblyman Muhammad Arafat Vafrisai Muhamad had to challenge me. Didn’t Umno and DAP have a close relationship?” he said at a press conference at the state secretariat building here on Monday (May 22).

Earlier, Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said any talk by assemblymen to topple the state government will cause instability in Perak’s future.

This came after Razman claimed on Saturday (May 20) that he had met several state reps who were concerned about Perak’s current administration.

Razman, who is also Perak Opposition leader, commented on Saarani’s remark about the situation in Perak.

“Since Saarani is the Perak Umno and Barisan Nasional chairman, what does he mean by political stability? Does this mean Umno will continue to work with DAP forever?

“Changes in the state government are not something new. In Perak, we had three different state governments in one term.

“We are not wishing for a change in the state administration, but if it happens, we are ready to be the new state government,” he said.
