Unwanted hug: PJ cops nab man for allegedly molesting woman


PETALING JAYA: A man was detained for allegedly molesting a woman who was walking in Sea Park.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the suspect was detained some three hours after the alleged incident on April 28.

"We managed to arrest the suspect at Ara Damansara at about 10.15pm.

"The suspect is wanted for two criminal cases in Wangsa Maju and Kelana Jaya," he said in a statement on Monday (May 8).

The suspect has been remanded for four days, he added.

"We urge those with information on the case to contact Petaling Jaya police at 03-7966 2222 or the nearest police station.

It was reported that a 20-year-old woman was molested at about 7.09pm on April 28 when a man suddenly came up from behind her while she was walking at the side of the road in Sea Park, and hugged her.

The suspect, who was clad in black clothing, a hat, as well as a mask, then fled the scene.
