Hindu coop increases assets to RM2.7mil

KOPERASI Yatra Hindu Malaysia has managed to increase its assets and holdings from RM1.341mil in 2021 to RM2.745mil in 2022, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Cooperative chairman K. Balasundram said this during his speech at the 27th delegates gathering and committee election at its office in Rawang.

The incumbent chairman and two other members retained their seats in the committee election while M. Arjunan was elected as a new member.

The Koperasi Yatra’s main agenda is to help members carry out pilgrimages to Hindu religious sites.

> The daily also reported that four men were arrested in Tamil Nadu, India, for attacking a bakery with petrol bombs over a billing dispute.

Satish Kumar, 33, who runs a bakery in Tiruppur, said two men went to the shop and ate pani puris before arguing that the snacks were not tasty.

They later returned with two other men and several beer bottles filled with petrol and bombed the bakery with crude Molotov cocktails.

However, the fire didn’t spread due to the men’s poor bomb-making skills.

All four men were later arrested by police.
