Senior member of PM's comms dept given 24-hour 'reassignment' notice, say sources

PETALING JAYA: A senior staff member of the Prime Minister's media and strategic communications division has allegedly been "reassigned", say reported sources.

News of the alleged dismissal was reported by a number of media outlets, which claimed that the person concerned had been given a 24-hour notice ahead of a "reassignment".

Malay news portal Majoriti reported that this was supposedly due to creative differences between the community communications department and the Prime Minister's Office over the handling of the Malaysia Madani campaign.

When contacted, community communications department director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff said he was unaware of the matter and refused to comment further, saying he was in a different department.

Efforts by the portal to contact the person concerned were unsuccessful.
