A SALESWOMAN became a blackmail victim after she stripped naked for an online acquaintance she had just befriended via Instagram, China Press reported.
The victim first started chatting online several days ago with the man before she stripped for him during a video call, said social worker Lim Dao Siang.
The man, however, then threatened to release the nude photos and compromising videos online if she did not pay him RM200.
After some bargaining, the saleswoman managed to drive down the amount to RM100.
The 24-year-old victim thought everything was over when she paid her new “friend” RM100 last Friday.
However, on the following day, the man demanded sex from her, adding that he would only delete the video recording and nude photos if she gave in.
The “friend” even told the victim to book a hotel room in Kulai, Johor, for a meet-up on that day.
The victim from Kuala Lumpur then sought help from Lim, who helped lay an ambush at the hotel.
However, the man did not show up, and the victim has since lodged a police report in Kuala Lumpur.
