IPOH: Former Umno members should not interfere with party matters, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Umno chairman said there was no need for former members to make provocative statements about the party.

"We are not being arrogant and I do appreciate former members who are still talking about Umno.

"But we are now on the right path and moving forward," he said during a press conference here on Sunday (April 16).

On Friday (April 14), Perak Umno Youth chief Nazirul Jamaluddin had refused to entertain any criticisms made by former party member Khairy Jamaluddin and described the former Rembau MP's criticisms as irrelevant.

Saarani, who is Perak Mentri Besar, said the party had gone through enough.

"While I appreciate that they (former members) are still in love with the party, I would advise them to let those in Umno decide what’s best for the party," he said.
