Form special panel to draft separation of AG duties, says lawyer

PETALING JAYA: A special body made up of former legal eagles and law academics should be formed to draft proposals on the separation of duties of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PP) from the Attorney General’s Chamber (AGC), says a senior lawyer.

Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla said this independent committee should be given the liberty to study the mechanism for the separation of duties between the prosecutor and the legal adviser to the government and come up with a proposal on how this can be executed.
