Court sets May 30 for inter-partes hearing of Diana Danielle-Farid Kamil divorce

SHAH ALAM: The Syariah High Court here on Wednesday (April 5) fixed May 30 for the inter-partes hearing of celebrity couple Diana Danielle Danny Beeson and Farid Kamil Zahari's divorce case concerning the temporary custody of their children.

Syarie lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, representing Diana, 32, said the court also extended the ex-parte interim order to the actress until May 30.

"Both parties (Diana and Farid) have informed the judge that we want to take the court resolution initiative of all issues related to both sides.

"It looks like there is hope as the other side has also indicated their willingness to discuss with us on the Sulh (conciliation) process set for April 11," he told reporters here Wednesday after the proceedings before Syarie Judge Zulfikri Yasoa.

On March 24, the Shah Alam High Court issued temporary custody of the couple's two children, aged 10 and eight, to Diana, with Farid given access to see his children.

Meanwhile, syarie lawyer Fakhrul Azman Abu Hassan, representing Farid, 42, also confirmed the matter.

He said his client wanted to save his family so that both his children will not be separated from either of their parents.

On March 20, Diana was the plaintiff in a divorce application against Farid under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003 on the grounds that they have irreconcilable differences and there was a shiqaq (prolonged dispute) and could no longer live together as husband and wife. - Bernama
