Childless woman kidnaps baby from hospital

A WOMAN in Tamil Nadu, India, pretended to be pregnant to sneak into a hospital where she kidnapped a seven-day-old infant boy, Makkal Osai reported.

Identified as Pandiammal, she entered the hospital under the guise of being a pregnant woman so that she could get gain access to the delivery ward.

The woman was captured on CCTV footage, entering the neonatal unit and then walking out with the baby.

Police who were alerted about the missing boy took almost 12 hours to rescue the infant and reunite him with his parents.

The woman who was arrested apparently told the police she couldn’t have a child of her own after eight years of marriage, so she decided kidnap a child.
