PETALING JAYA: 42-year-old actor Farid Kamil, whose full name is Farid Kamil Zahari, arrived at the Petaling Lower Syariah Court in Subang Bestari on Tuesday (March 28) with a bouquet of flowers.

Malay language daily Sinar Harian reported that Farid, who was accompanied by his lawyer, had brought the flowers as a peace offering for Diana.

"I want to give these flowers to Diana Danielle as a first sign of peace," Sinar quoted Farid as saying.

Earlier, Diana Danielle, 32, had arrived at the Syariah court at 9.02am for a conciliatory committee ("Jawatankuasa Pendamai" or JKP) meeting over divorce proceedings that she had initiated.

The lead actress of hit movie Imaginur filed the divorce application under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (State Of Selangor) Enactment 2003 on March 10.

Sinar Harian also reported that Diana – whose full name is Diana Danielle Danny Beeson –cited irreconcilable differences and "shiqaq" (prolonged disagreement) for the divorce.

However, Farid, who is the lead actor of the movie Anwar, The Untold Story has refused to utter the "talak" (proclamation of divorce) when the divorce application was brought up on March 20.

Diana's lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir told the press then that Farid had been unable to enter the couple's marital home since earlier this month.

He also said that during the proceedings before Syarie judge Shukran Yusof, the parties have been ordered to go through the JKP.

In a conciliatory committee or JKP, a religious officer would be appointed as chairman.

Together with the chairman, two other persons would be appointed for the husband and the wife, as stated under Section 47(5) of the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territory) Act 1984.

If the conciliatory committee is unable to resolve the marital dispute or find that the marriage cannot be saved, the Syariah Court will then appoint a "hakam" (arbitration) committee comprising close relatives from each side to find a solution.

It was understood that Diana has appointed a close friend to represent her while Farid has not appointed a representative.

Syarie judge Shukran then fixed March 28 for Farid to inform the court of his representation in the JKP.

Diana and Farid were married at Hotel Flamingo by the Lake in Ampang on Nov 3, 2012, and have two children, Muhammad, 10, and Nur Aurora, 8.
