Another Malaysian celebrity couple in the midst of a divorce process are actors Farid Kamil and Diana Danielle.

On March 20, Farid and Diana appeared in court to attend the first mention of Diana’s divorce application she made on March 10 under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (State Of Selangor) Enactment 2003. She had cited irreconcilable differences and "shiqaq" (prolonged disagreement) for the divorce.

However, the court proceeding concluded that day when Farid refused to utter the "talak" (proclamation of divorce), stating he still loved his wife.

On Tuesday (March 28), the two stars arrived at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court in Subang Bestari at Shah Alam to appoint their respective representative for the conciliatory committee (JPK).

And Farid, 41, came with a bouquet of roses stating that the flowers are for Diana, 31, as a gesture towards reconciliation.

Not only flowers, he also brought a ring.

“I bought this ring to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. Not an expensive item, but it’s just right,” he told mStar – The Star’s Malay-language portal.

Farid and Diana got married on Nov 3, 2012 and have two children together – a 10-year-old son and an eight-year-old daughter.

While Farid is hopeful for a reconciliation, Diana is having none of it.

Earlier, too, Farid claimed there might be an involvement of a third party which he said is the reason why Diana is seeking a divorce.

When met at the court premises by reporters, Diana denied that she was an unfaithful wife.

“That is slander. If this really happened, why did he bring flowers?

“He is not trying to save this marriage, he is trying save face,” she said sternly.

As for Farid bringing a ring, all she had to say was: “That ring he is trying to give is a ring that he lost eight years ago. He wants to give it back only today? I have been waiting for the ring for eight years now.

“If there really is a third person, why is he giving the ring. Yes, I am going ahead with the divorce.”

The outcome from Tuesday’s attendance is that Farid will be represented by a relative in the conciliatory committee, whereas Diana will be represented by her manager.

Their respective representatives will then meet for discussion at a later date and the court has set May 30 to hear the report of this meeting.

On the career front, Diana is the lead actress of the hit Malaysian movie Imaginur, and Farid is the lead actor in the upcoming movie Anwar, The Untold Story.
