Two die as m-bike crashes into parked lorry in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: Two foreign men were killed after their motorcycle crashed into a parked lorry at KM3.5 on Jalan Bukit Pasir-Tongkang Pechah here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the incident occurred at 11.20pm on Sunday (March 26).

He said the lorry driver, a 37-year-old man, had parked the vehicle on the left side of the road.

"The rider, together with the pillion rider, crashed into the right side of the back of the lorry.

"The crash caused both victims to suffer serious injuries and they were pronounced dead at the locations.

"Both men are believed to be foreigners and investigations are still ongoing to find out their identities," he said in a statement here on Monday (March 27).

The bodies of the victims have been sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for a post-mortem exam.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
