A WOMAN in Jiangsu, China, has been charged with intentionally killing her husband after walking out from a suicide attempt that they both agreed on, China Press reported.

After the husband found out that his wife had an affair last July, he became depressed.

On more than one occasion, he wanted to kill himself, but his wife talked him out of it. But when he suggested that they both commit suicide by jumping off the river, she agreed.

The husband then brought his wife to a bridge, stabbed himself in the heart, and fell into the river. However, the wife did not do likewise but left the scene instead.

A local prosecutor filed a case against the wife in court for not saving her husband, and the latter was sent to jail for three years and is on probation for four years.

However, due to the ailing health of the couple’s parents, the court ordered the wife to reach a settlement with the husband’s parents for 40,000 yuan (RM25,917).

> A secondary school teacher in Shanghai, China, who was romantically involved with a 16-year-old student was found to have engaged in sexual intercourse with him 44 times, China Press reported.

According to the student’s father, the 24-year-old teacher was recruited last September to teach upper secondary students. She got to know the student and began a relationship with him.

The father then insisted the two of them break up and urged the school to punish the teacher.
