Traffic congestion in Klang Valley following downpour


PETALING JAYA: Traffic jams were reported in several areas in the Klang Valley following heavy rain on Wednesday (March 22).

Among the areas affected were Jalan Gombak, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim, Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Pahang and Jalan Tun Razak, according to Astro Radio Traffic.

Heavy rain is also causing heavy traffic in areas around the Kuala Lumpur city centre, especially on Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Bangsar, Jalan Pudu and Jalan Travers.

On the LDP, a two-hour delay from Sunway City to the Penchala toll was reported and NKVE motorists took to social media to report a crash near the Duta toll that was causing a jam from Bukit Lanjan.

Flash floods also caused heavy traffic from Sungai Buloh to Bandar Sri Damansara.

This is also affecting traffic on Jalan Sungai Buloh from the Kwasa Damansara MRT station.

On Jalan Ipoh, a fallen tree near Taman Amansiara caused heavy traffic from Selayang.
