JOHOR BARU: Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has been appointed to the Umno supreme council despite losing in her bid to regain the Wanita chief's post.

She lost to incumbent Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad at the party elections which concluded on Saturday (March 18).

Besides Shahrizat, other leaders appointed to the supreme council included Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
