PM will look into TnG monopoly of highway toll collection system

KUALA LUMPUR: The issue involving the Touch'n Go (TnG) monopoly of the highway toll collection system will be addressed, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Touch'n Go has operated for more than two decades and there are no convincing developments in its system.

“We will reconsider the Touch'n Go monopoly (of highway toll collection system),” said Anwar at a youth dialogue session at the Youth Empowerment Fair at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Sunday (March 19).

Anwar was asked by an audience member on whether he would look into the highway toll collection system that was monopolised by Touch'n Go.

There have been calls by certain groups to end the current Touch'n Go monopoly of the highway toll collection system.

During the dialogue session - moderated by actress Amelia Henderson - Anwar had fielded questions from youths.

Among issues raised were improving the public transportation system and cannabis legalisation.

The youth dialogue session ended at 6.30pm and Anwar headed to Seri Pacific Hotel to chair a Pakatan Harapan meeting.

Anwar was scheduled to chair a unity government secretariat meeting in Menara Dato Onn at World Trade Centre KL at 8pm.
