Senior citizen dies after losing control of pickup truck


PETALING JAYA: A car crash that led to the death of a senior citizen is being investigated by police.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that the accident occurred on Thursday (March 16) at 12.10am.

"Preliminary investigations showed that the incident occurred along Jalan Klang Lama near the Heineken factory. The victim, a driver of a pickup truck, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a lamp post on the side of the road.

"The 66-year-old driver died while being treated at the hospital," he said.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
